According to new allegations from a whistleblower, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is reportedly preparing a commutation application for review by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Claimed at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the judicial oversight panel announced that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating the inmate is working on the commutation application. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the minimum-security facility in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, stated in a official statement that the prison’s warden was “helping” Maxwell with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for executive mercy.

Specific details of the clemency request remain unclear, Raskin added.

Alleged Privileges and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, per the insider, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her living area, and the warden has individually organized private meetings for her and her guests.

These meetings allegedly include a designated private space for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which Raskin described as an exceptional measure given the potential danger and chance of unmonitored communications.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other inmates, Maxwell was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to contact and how personnel would connect the communication to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The whistleblower further reportedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents promptly, she “essentially used” the official as her private aide.

The news release states that Maxwell’s correspondents would email documents directly to the warden, who would provide them to the inmate, who would review and edit them and return them to the warden to scan and provide to the initial correspondent.

Additional Privileges Reported

Further perks reportedly provided to Maxwell include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the prison exercise area.

Maxwell’s attorney has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

In a statement, the White House said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, pardoning the convict is not something he has thought about,” the representative noted.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that Maxwell told close associates in emails from prison that she was “much happier” at the new prison than her former location.

This past summer, Maxwell was moved from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the less restrictive prison in Texas, where most inmates are serving time for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

This move, which experts described as exceptional, occurred just days after she was interviewed about the Epstein case by the deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche, who also once acted as the President's personal lawyer.

This questioning came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the ongoing probe and amid widespread conjecture around Trump's own connections to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, who was found deceased in custody in that year while awaiting prosecution on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, the congressman also announced that he had sent a letter to Trump, requesting explanations about the whistleblower’s allegations, and called on the chief executive to reject the clemency appeal.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” the representative stated in the letter. “The government must not offer her with room service, with canine interaction, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that the official attend a open legislative session to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

He inquired whether Trump had talked about a potential commutation for the convict with Blanche or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to arrange her with the move or favorable and preferential treatment in prison, and whether she, her attorneys, relatives or representatives have made any commitments to Trump or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a reply to the questions by 24 November.

In October, the US supreme court declined to hear an petition from Maxwell on her sex-trafficking conviction.
